Wexford Opera House to “Bring Him Home”... Again.

(26th May 2009) As the first date of the Irish tour by the globe-trotting Colm Wilkinson - “Broadway and Beyond” show at Wexford Opera House has sold like hot cakes, another date (Sunday, June 28th) has been added to accommodate for exceptional demand to what promises to be a duo of truly enchanting concerts.

Some people are always in demand and no one epitomises this more than Colm Wilkinson, needing no introduction to lovers of musical theatre. On stages in London, New York, Toronto, to name but a few, he has firmly established himself as one of theatres legendary performers. His definitive portrayal of such leading characters as Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables” and the Phantom in “Phantom of the Opera” have brought the singer huge critical acclaim, a trophy case crammed with awards, and the adoration of millions of theatergoers.

It’s been another busy year for the Irish-born performer.  Not only touring tenaciously around the world, he has recently given, what critics have noted as a command acting performance, in HBO’s internationally acclaimed “The Tudors”, filmed at Ardmore Studios in Co. Wicklow.  Colm was also invited by President Barrack Obama to perform for Senator Edward “Teddy” Kennedy at the U.S. political patriarch’s birthday celebration at the Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C. earlier this year.

This exclusive show will feature Broadway blockbusters like Music of the Night, Bring Him Home, The Impossible Dream, Hello Young Lovers, and many other musical favourites, as well as Irish classics and popular standards. Book your tickets today for a musical occasion that will live long in the memory of audiences.
